The Master Paul Thomas Anderson is confirmed, but it is not the only added to the line up of the festival

As already announced The Master , the highly anticipated new film by U.S. director Paul Thomas Anderson (Magnolia, There Will Be Blood), it will be the 18th film in competition in Venice 69. The Master will be screened in 70mm at the Sala Grande (Palazzo del Cinema) on 1 September at 19.00, in the presence of the director and the official delegation. The film is played by Philip Seymour Hoffman, Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Adams, Jesse Plemons, David Warshofsky and Rami Malek. Paul Thomas Anderson is the 12th director (of 18 films) that this year is participating for the first time in the competition of the Venice Film Festival, along with Olivier Assayas, Ramin Bahrani, Peter Brosens and Jessica Woodworth, Rama Burshtein, Daniel Cyprus, Xavier Giannoli, Harmony Korine, Terrence Malick, Valeria Sarmiento, Kirill Serebrennikov.

The other three films that enter the program 69. Show are: How do I want to be my future?, A project of Ermanno Olmi by Maurizio Zaccaro (Out of Competition - Special Screenings); boarding Falcone Pasquale Scimeca , a tribute to Giovanni Falcone (Special Event), the midnight horror Du hast es versprochen (Forgotten) by German director - his feature debut - Alex Schmidt (Out of Competition).

Ermanno Olmi has developed As I want to be my future? with students in the last five years of the workshop "Hypothesis Cinema formation" of Bologna. The hundreds of interviews conducted around Italy, selected and mounted, have now become a movie with artistic direction of Maurizio Zaccaro, which offers a significant cross-section of the expectations, hopes, disappointments and fears of today's youth.

The film comes to school to tell a story of legality. It 'a tribute to Giovanni Falcone's new film by Pasquale Scimeca, boarding Falcone, involving school children and professional actors as Donatella Finocchiaro, David Coco, Philip Moon, Marcello Mazarella, Guja Jelo, Enrico Lo Verso, Vincenzo Albanian, Salvatore Sclafani, adding the young protagonists to their debut Pietro D'Agostino and Richard Perniciaro. The film, based on a story by Joseph Cadili and written by Francesco La Licata, is produced by Arbash, Rai Cinema, Sicilia Film Commission, in collaboration with the Fondazione Francesca and Giovanni Falcone. The music is by Franco Battiato. Pasquale Scimeca says: "The film is dedicated to Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino for twenty years after their death, but also thinking of the thirty years of Pio La Torre, Carlo Alberto Dalla Chiesa and many, many others. History is set to the present day, is a story starring the guys who are confronted with a sense of justice, even through small everyday gestures. "
